aquila

Phlegraei tela furoris
reference to Phlegra, a Macedonian city, where the Giants fought against the Gods.
Aegiochi...Iovis
Jupiter is often depicted as aegiŏchus, that is carrying the aegis. The aegis has been interpreted either as an animal skin or a shield, sometimes bearing the head of a Gorgon. In iconography, it is carried either by Jupiter or Athena.
3 Sic te nulla movent Getici saeva agmina Martis, so beunruhigen dich keine tobenden Truppen des getischen Mars,
Getici...Martis
Mars, that is the god of war, is defined with the epithet Geticus, alluding to his Thracian origin.
Sigei...Quirini
reference to Romulus (Quirinus is the epithet that he received after his apotheosis). The adjective Sigeus refers to the Sigeum, an important site in the Troas (Asia Minor), where Achilles' tomb was: the term is therefore used as a synonym for "Trojan" and, as the Romans are said to be descendants of the Trojans, also for "Roman".
6 Sic patre et Hernesto sis mihi maior avo.
Hernesto...avo
This is Ernest the Iron (1377-1424), of the House of Habsburg, Duke of Styria, Carinthia and Carniola, father of Frederick III.
