Beschreibung
This anonymous poem is an epitaph of Matthias Corvinus, King of Hungary (1443-1490), who died unexpectedly in Vienna on 6 April 1490. Only death could defeat the mighty ruler and conqueror, the inscription states.

Matthias's funeral was held in St. Stephen's Cathedral in Vienna and he was buried in Székesfehérvár Cathedral on 24 or 25 April 1490.
