This section (C. 213-220) is a set of funerary epigrams for prominent representatives of both the Catholic and the Orthodox Churches. For information on the tradition of these epitaphs, see the introduction to C. 213.

This poem is an epitaph for Lorenzo de Calvis, outlining his stations in life and his ecclesiastical offices.

The title is missing in the codex. It has been reconstructed on the basis of the poem's last line.

Nobile de Calvis vv. 3–6: The information about the speaker given in these lines is quite substantial: he was called Laurentius (Lorenzo), belonged to a noble Roman family, the de Calvis (dei Calvi?) and had a distinguished ecclesiastic career which included the offices of protonotary apostolic, canon of Saint Peter and "scriptor apostolicus". Nonetheless we have been unable to identify the man.
